Rocketship’s instructional philosophy works on a revolutionary, teacher-led, technology-based, and personalized learning. What does personalized learning mean?
Personalized learning is tailor-made to suit the needs of an individual student while still using the right curriculum, content, and methods of instruction. For example, Rocketship has involved the parents in the hiring of teachers always. In Rocketship schools, the parents become part of the school community and student’s learning. The partnership with the parents, districts, sister charter schools, and community organizations assists the students to perform, excellently.
According to Rocketship Education CEO and co-founder, Preston Smith, personalized learning must start at home. Smith explains that personalized learning should involve the deep knowledge of the unique interests and needs of every pupil and family. Yearly home visits are a crucial part of the Rocketship customized education.
In the Rocketship Education exemplary model, the parent can change to a classroom teacher just as the student’s home may transform into a classroom. Every Rocketeer must develop stronger relationships with fellow students, teachers, and families. Further, the Rocketeer should serve with full commitment and dedication.
